The blog has a new look … it just felt like it was time to shake things up a bit.
I’m still trying to figure a few things out. For example, I cannot seem to get the categories and tags to show up in a searchable way, which is a little frustrating. They are listed on the posts themselves, so if you want more posts in the “transition” category you can click on the term to the left of the post text. It’s a band-aid for now. UPDATE: Hey, these are in the footer now, as is the subscribe button, so this is progress.
Since I don’t get many comments on the posts, I’d like to remove the “No comments” note also to the left of the post text – it feels a little sad having it listed! I’m happy to list any comments that do come, though. Finally, the photos are all really different sizes that throws of the clean grid that was in the original template. Anyway, these are fairly small things and hopefully I can figure them out.
If you have any thoughts about the blog or its new look, please let me know what you think!
Also going forward, I’ll be starting some posts about Type 2 Diabetes, which is the health condition I alluded to in prior posts. It’s an interesting condition that is becoming more common but is still very individualistic. What works for one person, may not work for others. This frustrates all of us T2Ds. It also is a chronic disease that may go into remission (i.e., no more medication and symptoms are controlled by diet and exercise) but it does not go away. Ultimately, it is something I will have with me for the rest of my life in one way or another.
The other posts will be continuing – updates on my mother and Toby the cat, more thoughts on books, and other random thoughts, so I look forward to seeing where this goes and I hope people will join me on the way.
